David B. Wartman, FCMC is the Executive Director of the The Orchestra Society of Calgary/Calgary Civic Symphony a registered charity and Alberta not-for-profit society founded to provide volunteer musicians a musical home to continue to play with like-minded colleagues and continue to develop their musical skills.  Prior to joining the Civic, David served as CEO of a medical charity operating clinics in Malawi.  His background includes thirty years in management and executive roles in government, academia and the private sector before moving into the consulting industry in 2000.

David also has a long governance history having served as a director for more than fifteen organizations and President/Chair of five of those organizations.  In addition, he served as a facilitator with Alberta’s Board Development Program for a number of years.

David holds a BA from the University of Saskatchewan, an MS from the New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Cornell University and holds the Fellow Certified Management Consultant designation through the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Alberta.
