USA Today: Flames president Brian Burke threatens team could leave without new arena
"We're not going to make the threat to leave. We'll just leave," Burke said at the Canadian Club of Calgary Wednesday, according to a report in the Calgary Sun. "We still have a building that was built in 1983, the oldest in the league by more than 10 years."
The Scotiabank Saddledome was built for about $70 million and has been home to the Flames since 1983. The New York Rangers' Madison Square Garden was built in 1968, but has recently undergone renovations.
