Jessie Mann is an associate in the Calgary office of Torys LLP. Jessie’s practice encompasses all areas of restructuring and bankruptcy, acting for a wide range of parties, including insolvent corporations, creditors, court-appointed receivers, monitors and trustees in bankruptcy, in large and complex insolvencies and restructurings. Jessie also practices corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on power, oil and gas and infrastructure transactions.

Jessie’s legal expertise is supplemented by business experience in a diversified, Canadian-based, international group of companies, providing corporate governance advice and corporate secretarial assistance to the subsidiaries of three TSX-listed issuers. Jessie has advised clients on both domestic and international projects and transactions. Her business experience gives her a unique insight into the challenges faced by various oil and gas companies.

Staying active in the community is very important to Jessie. Before starting her legal career, she volunteered at the YMCA and the food-bank, non-profit, charitable organizations, helping vulnerable Canadians. She is currently a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Canadian Bar Association, Calgary Bar Association and Association of Women Lawyers.

During her spare time, Jessie enjoys reading, hiking, exercising, doing yoga, playing soccer and watching movies.
