Gayelene Bonenfant

Gayelene Bonenfant has volunteered with the MS Society of Canada in several capacities. Gayelene was the Treasurer to Board of Directors, chair to the Finance Audit and Risk Management committee, and member to the following committees: Investment, Executive, Governance, Community Engagement Implementation Group, and former chair of the Alberta/NWT Division Council. Gayelene has also formerly held roles as: past chair-Investment Committee, treasurer - Alberta/NWT council, former board liaison to the Community Facing Task Force, chair - Chapter Liaison Committee, and the Calgary Whisky Festival Committee.

Gayelene has been an active fundraiser, helping to launch the first endMS campaign and build support through her networks for “People Against MS” (PAMS) events, among other initiatives. She reflects fondly on the reward of the investments made in the endMS Research and Training Network and the impact on global MS research trends.

Professionally, Gayelene is a Senior Accountant with Orpyx Medical Technologies Inc. in Calgary, and is the CEO of KuSu Inc. and CFO of Growbotix AgTech Inc. Gayelene has held past roles as controller of Freemont Resources Ltd and CFO of Athena Resources. Gayelene completed her MBA at Royal Roads University with a specialization in Sustainability and Innovation and is currently completing a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.

Gayelene enjoys a great sense of satisfaction from her work with a group of very dedicated individuals who have people with passion and heart for community.

Gayelene is the proud mother to her daughter, Alana, who is currently who holds a bachelors of Law and International Relations and Diplomacy from Bond University in Australia, and is completing her LLM in research with a focus on the global right to health. Alana hopes to begin a career in Human Rights and Immigration Law. Alana is also the President of the Australian Law Student’s Association.
