Board President & Chair
He is a young business professional focusing on accounting and communications who is passionate about increasing accessibility, inclusion, civic and political engagement. He is an active community volunteer; Jermyn has been either a member or volunteered with numerous political campaigns and community & non-profit organizations. Jermyn serves as the Board President of the Canadian Club Calgary and on the boards of the Marda Loop Justice Film Festival and Federation of Calgary Communities, which represents 20,000 local volunteers. He is also a member of the Calgary Public Library Foundation Council of Champions, & Students’ Association of Mount Royal University Board Advisory Committee. He is a past board member of Variety Alberta, Société Macdonald-Cartier Society, Students Association of Mount Royal University, and Rotary District 5360 Communications Committee & volunteers with various community organizations including Startup Calgary & Shaw Charity Classic. He is also the Canadian Club program lead for the Girls20 Young Directors program.
His previous experience includes working at both the federal & provincial (Alberta) levels of government, in addition to the private and non-profit sectors in accounting, administration, communications, and marketing-related roles.
Jermyn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management (Marketing & Accounting focus) and a Business Administration Diploma, both from Mount Royal University's Bissett School of Business. He has also completed the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD-Rotman) NFP Governance Essentials Program from University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, onBoard Canada's Board Governance Fundamentals Certificate Course from Ryerson University, and the Professional Accounting Program through SAIT. Jermyn is currently pursuing his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
